UKSSH HELPS JDC SCAFFOLDING HIT THE HEIGHTS AGAIN

Award winning JDC Scaffolding’s latest project - providing scaffolding works on the Queens Tower, Imperial College London – includes an 83 metre Haki Staircase supplied by UKSSH.

The project, being undertaken by JDC’s client Russell Cawberry Ltd, comprises a refurbishment to the exterior of the stone tower and to the copper roof coverings of the 19th Century tower which was opened in 1893 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee.

The tower is all that remains of the Imperial Institute – the rest of the building was demolished in the 1960’s leaving the tower a standalone structure.

The impressive scaffold design by RDG Engineering comprises an 83 metre high free standing scaffold formed of an inner access scaffold with an outer scaffold exoskeleton. The main external scaffolding encapsulates a 2 tonne passenger/goods hoist and a full height Haki staircase.
