Temporary Roof helps protect the Fens.
UK System Scaffold Hire and Tubes Scaffolding have collaborated to build an impressive 800m2 temporary roof as part of a project by Anglian Water to maintain water supplies to 3,000 homes while protecting Catfield Fen - a renowned Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a much-loved area of the Norfolk Broads.
As part of a £9million investment by Anglian Water which will enable them to stop taking water from a groundwater source near to the Fen, Tubes Scaffolding constructed a temporary roof to enable the construction of a new booster station and additional water storage facility at Horstead Reservoir which will pump water directly to customers taps.
Pete Thompson of Tubes Scaffolding said “During this project both Tubes Scaffolding and our client were involved in water management. Whilst Anglian Water’s role was to carefully balance their customers’ demand for water and the needs of the wider environment, our role was a little simpler – to keep water out from the construction work that they were undertaking. The Haki temporary roof was the obvious solution for the project. From experience, we were confident that that The HAKITEC 750 Roof System ticked all the boxes – it is lightweight, safe, fast and easy to erect and provides maximum protection against the elements with a very effective weatherproof seal.
The project is the just the latest in a long line of collaborations between Tubes Scaffolding and UKSSH “We know that Gary Griffiths and his team at UKSSH share our commitment to client service and their skill sets perfectly complement our own. It means that we can be confident that they will help us to deliver projects on time and on budget.”
