UKSSH TEMPORARY BUILDING PASSES THE TEST

When KW Designed Solutions, global leaders in the design and manufacture of innovative pressure testing equipment, were contracted to test huge components that were being imported from Italy, they needed to create a bespoke, temporary facility which would enable large vehicles to drive in and out of the test facility while still enabling the work to be undertaken in a controlled environment.

KW turned to temporary building specialists UK System Scaffold Hire.

UKSSH designed the purpose - built temporary structure, supplied the product (using HAKI 750 components for the side wall and roof sections) and worked with HAKI specialist installers Tamworth Scaffolding to build the workshop.

One end of the finished building featured an 8-metre-high x 8.5-metre-wide curtain sheeting which allowed a rolling crane to carry the vessels into the structure before being closed to keep out the weather.

At the other end of the structure UKSSH designed and constructed two opening doors  - each 7 metres high by 3 metres wide - using an innovative combination coupler and adjustable nylon wheels to ensure that the huge doors could be easily opened and closed to allow  a Hiab vehicle to load and unload materials.

UKSSH also incorporated a bespoke roller shutter door at the side of the building to enable forklift trucks to regularly enter and leave the building with minimum disruption to the work in progress.

Despite the need for last minute adjustments to the project – which are almost inevitable when working to tight deadlines on temporary sites – the work was completed on time and on budget.

UKSSH are specialists in supplying temporary buildings which are an invaluable solution to keep work on schedule whatever the weather.

By their very nature they need to be quick and efficient to erect (both to keep costs down and to respond to time-sensitive projects) and they need to be versatile to meet a diverse range of requirements.
