Malvern Scaffolding has won 2nd place, Highly Commended in the Project of the Year (up to £250k Scaffold) category in the 2025 NASC - National Access and Scaffolding Confederation ‘Scaffolding Excellence Awards’ - for their scaffolding and temporary roofing solutions on the exciting new Scala Arts Centre project in Worcester.
Working with main contractor, Speller Metcalfe, Malvern Scaffolding has provided a complex 20m span Haki temporary roof, supplied by UKSSH, sitting over a CI sheet roof on splayed elevation, founded on Van Thiel tubelock, to provide access to the project for contractors, with extensive Haki internal birdcages, external Haki staircases and large format loading bays.
The scaffolding and roofing has been widely praised by the main contractor, client and NASC judges. Speaking about their award nomination, Malvern Scaffolding MD, Steve Fellows said: “Technically challenging temporary roofs have become something of a calling-card for Malvern of late and it’s been a really enjoyable challenge to deliver this one in our home city and to further cement our working relationship with both Speller Metcalfe and with UKSSH”.
Co-founder and Commercial Director, Jon Stone added: “It is quite a feat to be nominated two years in a row, above so many other amazing scaffolds (and congratulations to all the winners!). It is a great acknowledgement of the quality of work we are consistently delivering as we approach our 30th Anniversary.”
Malvern Scaffolding have previously won the NASC Health & Safety Award in both 2017 and 2018, have been shortlisted for Product Innovation 2016 and Project of the Year 2019, as well as last year for their Worcester Cathedral Tower scaffold.
