UKSSH HIRE AND SELL TOE BOARDS FOR HAKI AND HAKI TYPE STAIR TOWERS
FASET (Fall Arrest Safety Equipment Training), the established trade association and training body for the safety netting and temporary safety systems industry, recently issued important guidance on the use of toe boards on stair towers.
“The use of toe boards on site staircases is mandatory”.
FASET, supported by the HSE, summarised that Work at Height Regulations Interpretation 2 (a) states that toe boards should be used on all stair towers.
Stair towers are defined as a platform used as a place of work or as a means of access to or egress from a place of work. Therefore, where there is a risk of materials/equipment falling, either during work or whilst in transit, then a means of reducing that risk (toe-boards) must be in place.
