KELTBRAY STEPS UP TO DEMOLITION CHALLENGE
Two 60 metre tall Haki compact stair towers proved the perfect fit when Keltbray undertook the preparatory demolition work for the construction of the Edenica office building in Central London.
The project posed multiple challenges - including live offices against the party wall and a constrained site (including an active burial ground which limited the loads that the external scaffold could place there).
With space at a premium, the specification of two 60 metre tall compact stair towers helped to optimise the working area.
The Haki compact stair tower has the smallest footprint of any stair tower - with a footprint of 2.5m x 1.25m the Haki compact stair tower can fit into the tightest places.
Just as adaptable as the traditional Haki stair tower (its larger cousin), both side and end exits are possible.
Non-slip treads and landings made with mesh gratings both ensure safety and clean work boots, reducing site debris on the stair tower and the working platform.
Keltbray’s demolition of the existing buildings in Fetter Lane was preparatory to the construction of a new 12-storey development with roof gardens, a new pedestrian route and pocket square at ground level.
