Sometimes its the small cogs that keep big machines turning: Platinum Scaffolding’s contract to supply a temporary public staircase at the FedEx hub at Stanstead Airport may have been a very small part of the $25 million redevelopment of the facility, but none the less it was important to the continued smooth running of the company’s operation at Stansted - the UK's third-largest cargo airport.
Platinum Scaffolding once again worked with UKSSH to supply the staircase. Platinum’s MD, Tony Larkin, cited a combination of factors in choosing to work with UKSSH: “On previous projects they had proved that the Haki Public Access Staircase is the best product in the market, but working with UKSSH provides other benefits, too. Firstly, they have an unsurpassed product knowledge, then there is their reliability and finally their commitment to only supplying genuine Haki products.
“At Platinum Scaffolding we pride ourselves on our reputation for always delivering solutions to the highest standards and we know that by working with UKSSH that reputation is in safe hands.”
The Public Access Staircase installed by Platinum Scaffolding on the FedEx project was wide enough to accommodate a two-way system, allowing a flow of workers to use it to both ascend and descend, featured aluminium treads to deliver perfect slip resistant steps and landings and handled safe working loads up to 7.5kN m2.
