UKSSH TEMPORARY SHELTERS HELP TO KEEP THE ROYAL NAVY LOOKING SHIP SHAPE

Famously, nowhere in England is more than 70 miles from the sea, so it really shouldn’t be any surprise that the team at Tamworth based UK System Scaffold Hire has vast experience of working in shipyards and on shipbuilding projects. In fact, our team has experience of working in naval shipyards as far afield as Oregon in the US.

For obvious reasons we can’t go into project details (hence the use of an archive photo to illustrate the article) but suffice to say that in addition to creating suspended access for repairing the side of ships, UKSSH are supplying temporary shelters and buildings to provide protected working areas for blasting, painting and general repairs.

The challenges provided by the constraints of working on board naval vessels are met perfectly by the simplicity and effectiveness of Haki weather protection products:

Rolling roofs offer the ability to “move with the project,” covering the area being worked on to keep the project on track and on time.

Hakitec Temporary Buildings are adaptable to suit specific structures and requirements and can be erected in even the most demanding conditions. They are designed to quickly overcome problems such as uneven or sloping sites and meet the most stringent safety requirements with comprehensive risk assessments and method statements complementing generic safe systems of work.

Temporary Shelters not only keep out adverse weather, but also create the perfect controlled environment for outdoor projects where temperature or humidity control is essential - for example when hi-tech non-skid deck coatings are being applied to aircraft carriers - or where hazardous materials need to be contained.
